Organization: Greely Community Association (GCA)
Timeline for Completion: Ongoing
Objective:
The Greely Loop was a volunteer-led initiative that took nearly 4 years to complete. A small group of Greely residents wanted to find a way to connect the community of Greely so children can visit each other, families can ride together, and residents can visit the library without having to ride on the busy roads.
The Loop couldn’t have been done without the generous support of many local business who donated their time, equipment, materials and labour, private landowners who gave permission to use their land, and grants and sponsorships from local organizations who helped clear the way. You see all our supporters on the Greely Loop Map!
The Greely Loop is a 10.7 km route for cyclists and pedestrians that connects about 20 neighbourhoods within Greely. It follows quiet residential streets, existing paved paths, and some stone-dust and grass paths. You’ll see a wonderful mix of neighbourhoods, pass by several parks, the Greely Community Centre, a farm field and enjoy a beautiful woodland repose too!
The Greely Loop belongs to the community. Please play your part in taking care of it, keeping it clean and respecting private property.
