(Theme 1 – Transportation, Theme 8 – Health, Theme 9 – Recreation)

Organization: Rideau Trail Association

Timeline for Completion: May 1, 2021

Objective:

As part of the Rideau Trail Association’s 50th Anniversary, the RTA will be hosting an Extreme Hike Challenge on Saturday, May 1 2021. This Challenge is open to all interested hikers and outdoor fitness enthusiasts. The event will take place in the Central section of the Rideau Trail, with the start and finish being in the lovely town of Perth, Ontario. From Perth the trail heads South through woods and a few back roads and crosses through both the Mica Mines Conservation Area and Murphy’s Point Provincial Park. The turn around point will be just past the Lally Farm parking area inside Murphy’s Point Provincial Park. The start time for the Challenge is 6:00 AM, so plan to arrive at the Registration Area by 5:40 AM. Badges (as seen above) will be awarded onsite to successful participants.

Come see some beautiful countryside and find out how you measure up to The Challenge.
