Old Home Earth Day

Old Home Earth Day

(Theme 2 – Energy, Theme 8 – Health, Theme10 – Sense of Place)

Organization: Glebe Community Association (GCA)

Timeline for Completion: Annual Event – Saturday, April 21 from 10am to 4pm

Objective:

Old Home Earth Day is an event to empower residents and owners of residential and multi-unit residential buildings to take concrete steps towards decreasing the carbon footprint/energy intensity of their home and save money.

The Old Home Earth Day Event (OHEDE) – our second in what we hope will be annual – will take place at the Glebe Community Centre on Saturday, April 21 from 10am to 4pm. It’s entirely free, thanks to our volunteers and sponsors, and it’s open to all Ottawa area residents. The objective is to encourage residents to take action to reduce the carbon intensity of their home. A second objective is to motivate residents to take action to live more lightly in other ways. The overall goal is to reduce our community’s and city’s contribution to global warming – think global, act local. What better way to celebrate Earth Day?
