Timeline for Completion: Ongoing Seasonal
Gotta Bug For Beekeeping? Join Capital Bees for a full season of Hands-on Beekeeping Program starting in spring through fall.
We offer comprehensive hands-on learning to take you from the sidelines to become a competent and confident beekeeper.
Our program includes:
•6 structured classes throughout the season (36+ hours, mostly in the bee yard)
•additional optional evening or weekend hands-on sessions
•beekeeping manual and handouts
•small class size for an intimate experience with the bees and one-on-one instructor attention
•community building with fellow students
•ongoing support: in person or by telephone and/or email
•convenient options to purchase bees
Our program is ideal for those wanting to start keeping bees this season or next year.
Space is limited to 8-10 students per class to ensure a personal experience where we can build on every student’s challenges.
Location: We currently keep about 25-50 beehives right in the Ottawa Greenbelt at the Just Food Farm in Blackburn Hamlet.
