Christmas Bird Count – Ottawa and Surrounding Areas

Christmas Bird Count - Ottawa and Surrounding Areas

(Theme 4 – Habitat)

Organization: Ottawa/Mississippi Valley/Macnamera Field Naturalists

Timeline for Completion: Ongoing Annual Event

Objective:

Each year, Ontario Nature member groups organize bird counts in their communities across Ontario as part of their holiday traditions. The annual Christmas Bird Counts (CBCs) are a festive holiday tradition welcoming birders of all skill levels.

The counts bring citizen scientists together to count as many different species, and individuals of those species, as possible over the course of a single day.

Join a bird count in your area this holiday season to contribute to bird research in North America.
