Objective:

Major’s Hill Park is Ottawa’s oldest park, formally established in 1875, and covering just over five hectares in the heart of the capital. A large lawn forms the centre of the park. Many of the walkways surrounding the lawn offer views out over the Rideau Canal and the Ottawa River.

Objective:

We have partnered with Ontario Electronics Stewardship (OES) to start accepting waste electronics and used electrical equipment at all 3 locations.

All three locations are open to the public, so anyone with unwanted electronics can drop the items off for free.

Objective:

Landfill gas-to-energy generating plants turn landfill gas from decomposing waste into electricity. The new facility at Moose Creek generates enough green electricity to power 4,000 homes and divert more than 100,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions from being released into the atmosphere.

Objective:

The Trail Road Landfill Gas to Energy Facility converts landfill gas at the City of Ottawa’s Trail
Road Landfill site into 5 MW of renewable “green” power. This is enough power to serve 5,000
Ottawa homes.
