Integrating passenger rail service throughout Canada’s National Capital’s Region

Integrating passenger rail service throughout Canada's National Capital's Region

(Theme 1 – Transportation, Theme 9 – Recreation, Theme10 – Sense of Place)

Organization: Moose Rail Inc.

Timeline for Completion: 2019

Moose Inc. is an interprovincial transit program that will connect communities in outlying eastern Ontario and the Gatineau region in Quebec with the National Capital Region.

The Moose Consortium plan makes efficient and effective use of existing corridors and infrastructure in ways that are complementary to each municipality’s current transit operations, plans and priorities.

All three of the inter-provincial railway lines selected for the Moose service intersect with the Ottawa LRT and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) routes. Two of them intersect with Gatineau’s Rapibus BRT.
