Amber Lawrence
Chair

I have over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit world. I have founded 2 non profits from the ground up, worked on many different round tables and have worked with municipal, provincial and federal levels of government. I am presently the coordinator of a local charity that services youth ages 12 to 17.

Emilie Grenier
Director at Large

Emilie graduated from Carleton University with a Masters of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership in 2019 and has since focused her work on engagement organizing and climate change campaign coordination. Her organizing and fundraising background is put to good use at OBEC. Originally from Qu├ębec, she currently lives in the Purcell mountains of British Columbia and spends most of her time researching how to be less cold.

Jennifer Lee
Past Chair

I’m currently a Policy Analyst at Environment and Climate Change Canada. In terms of education, I have a Master of Arts in International Affairs, with a specialization in International Economic Policy from Carleton University, and a Bachelor of Health Sciences from Western University. I’m from London, Ontario and I’ve been living in Ottawa/Gatineau since 2016. In 2016, I joined OBEC as a volunteer Project Lead and to organize an event on Environmental Health. I subsequently joined the OBEC Board in 2017 and occupied various positions on the Board since then

Eric Sonego

He is the longest member on OBEC’s Board of Directors. He is a highly certified accountant (RPA, APA, CIA, CMA(AU) & IIA – Internal Auditor) and owner of Eric Sonego Professional Group.

Rudi Aksim

After many years as a teacher at Algonquin College, in retirement I’m working on Climate Issues, helping to develop local projects.

Maziar Q

I am an internationally Trained Architect, Cultural landscape and Geopark Development Expert who brought 20 years of experience in the building industry with special attention to Sustainable Development Goals to Canada. I am presently promoting my self-business (www.hashti.ca) and am developing a new e-platform for global geoparks: www.gogeopark.com. I do some other interesting volunteering, too.

HR leader with 12 years of experience at Global Fortune 500 companies and start-ups. 5 years senior HR leadership role working with CEO/President/ED managing significant growths, M&A, challenges, and transformations. CHRL (Certified HR Leader). MBA and M.S. in Telecom Management, Oklahoma State University.
